I returned to the Gundulić Field, my favorite spot, where I always came back after wandering the streets, even after fatigue settled in, because the place where I was most glad and rested was at the foot of the monument to Ivan Gundulić, maybe because I already knew Osman by heart and often recited the verses of the famous poet, alone or in front of others; whenever my father wanted to brag about his clever child, he made me recite those poems and impress anyone ready to listen.
